Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden

So much more than what I expected.....so good!!!

Outstanding. I first saw Matthew years ago at Kfm's Kday when it was still staged at Newlands. He was alone on stage with a kick-drum and ukulele, but I remember thinking "this guy has some good tunes". Now his songs are all over the local radio playlists and he has developed into a master showman, the sell-out crowd at Kirstenbosch on their feet and lapping it up – he knows how to work the audience. Great stuff, as were the support act, Amistat – beautiful set by them. There is one thing I have to get off my chest. Every time I go to Kirstenbosch, I seem to be sat next to groups of people who only want to chat amongst themselves and pay no attention to the music. Why? Today was a sell-out, so you guys, sitting with your backs to the stage, were denying others from attending. To me it's really rude. If you're not interested in the artist's content, then just go somewhere else to talk your shit and leave others to enjoy the event. But Matthew and guests – just brilliant. Amazing set that I will never forget – thank you for a wonderful night's entertainment!

It was one of the best shows I have ever attended! The venue is world class and Spoegwolf didn't dissappoint. They are four incredible talented musicians and the energy of their shows combined with the quality of the music and lyrics makes it unforgettable. And to top it all was the song Erika Way featuring Jodi Jantjies!

Crowd was too big for such an intimate singer, he didn’t play the most popular songs but atmosphere was fantastic!!
