It was INCREDIBLE! It was my first experience ever seeing or listening to them, but I’ll forever be a fan of their music. The lead singer had an amazing stage presence, and was so, so kind and humble when I met them after the show. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience that still has me hooked on New West.
Bob and the band just came out and just tore into their set like there was no tomorrow! They went through 6 or 7 songs with little to no break in between before he took a little time to talk. The band was TIGHT!! He was all over the stage during his set and has the energy of a man half his age…it’s absolutely incredible to watch! I would describe the show as being kicked in the teeth right from the beginning, never letting up, and left you begging for more after the last song! Any time Bob tours, it’s a MUST SEE show!!
Sevendust was one if the best shows I've been to in a long time already really sweet guys and then when they got on stage omg they ripped your face off .from the first note till the last it was a amazing such a great show I wait way to long to see them live won't ever do that again
Mr. Smalls is a great small venue. Balcony upgrade seats were awesome. Cost of upgrading to the balcony went towards food and drinks. Food was decent. Nothing great. Prices were reasonable. Between me and my wife we had $90 to spend. We spent $59 of it. The floor area was pretty packed. Had to be close to a sold out show. And after seeing Sevendust for my first time, I can understand why. They are incredible live. They sound even heavier live than they do on their albums. Lajon can sing like a bird. A bird with attitude. And I didn’t know if I would ever see a drummer pound the kit like John Fred Young, but Morgan Rose is a beast. He’s serious about his drumming and his backing vocals are awesome. I will definitely go see these guys again if given the chance.
Highly Irresponsible is what I would call Greg diving off a balcony facade into the crowd, but that was the theme wasn't it? LOL They only played about an hour, but it was loud and fast and exciting. They only have about an album and a half of material at this point anyway. Can't wait to see them again.
I appreciate Livingston and today's music sound that comes out of his mouth with the words that he writes so passionate. He reminds me of my daughter. My daughter is the same age as he is still trying to find her way in life. I'm always sharing his music and his words so that she sees that she's not alone in what she goes through. I'm trying very hard to come and see one of his concerts but I've been living through his his page from Instagram looking at his live videos of his concerts and his music listening watching him grow. Can't wait to see him in concert and bring my daughter with me I'm excited for that day to happen I already know that I'm going to love every minute of it just because of the fact that I love his music he's a special young man he is a blessing to many and he is blessed with a gift
I’m so glad I went to this show. Soul Asylum was just so damn good. I have so many memories in my life of their music and I could not have been more blown away by just how thoughtful, practiced, balanced, and wonderful their music and this show was. Also Mr. Smalls is the best Pittsburgh venue in just about every metric. The sound was on point. Great night I won’t forget.
Mathias Lattin started off the night with a terrific performance! He needs to be a headliner, not a warmup! Kingfish knocked it out of the park. I think he could use a better keyboardist though. I think Mr Smalls jammed about 50-100 people too many on the floor. A few attendees were rude and bullied their way through the crowd - not a typical Blues crowd. Not many dancing or even bobbing or moving to the music, although the cheering and applause was robust. The bar was excellent! Don't know how they were so efficient serving that many people. And if you never went to Mr Smalls, there is only street parking, so get there very very early. Overall, a fun concert!
The smaller size of this venue (Mr. Smalls) allowed for an electrifying connection with the band that you just can't get at larger venues. The energy was contagious, and being up close to the stage made the experience unforgettable. The band's performance was beyond incredible, showcasing their talent and passion in every note. It was hands down the best concert I've been to in years, and I can't wait to see them again!
Alexandra Kay was awesome! The venue itself was not. Parking was difficult, especially for someone with a cane. Venue is not handicap friendly. Several steps to get into venue. No accessible seating made available. I was offered a folding chair near the back of the theater along the wall after another person saw me standing with my cane. So, obviously, could not see when seated. Bought artist presale tickets and only general admission were available. Noticed upper level seats at venue but was told they were “premium” seats. Would travel out of town before returning to this venue.
One of the best experiences of my life- I’ve listened to him for a few years and a few of his songs have huge sentimental value to me, and seeing him live was fantastic enough he puts on an amazing show, but even better i got to meet him afterwards. I feel bad cause im afraid i was staring and i failed to form sentences i was too busy trying to believe that this wasn’t a dream seeing him three feet away from me, but he was so cool and we chatted for a while (me, my friends and him) and i’ll never forget it. He was so nice and i’m still in shock but it was so so cool and an amazing concert experience.
Excellent show. I was outside talking with the folks from Bent Knee during
wheel’s performance, but BK and VOLA were excellent. Mr. Small’s is a great venue, and the balcony upgrade went right to my food & beverage tab. So basically it was a free seat. Stood upfront for BK, sat for VOLA. Us older folks have a hard time standing for three bands! First Metal show that I did not have to put in my Etymotic hearing protection. Not sure if it was VOLA’s sound guy or the venue’s perfect speaker placement and amplification.
This group of guys are some of the nicest dudes out there in the music industry. The show was downright amazing! Guaranteed to make your faces melt with a phenomenal mix of guitars with a singer who is a tenor but has that kick butt grit in his voice and I love it! He knows how to control his crowds which is A++. So after getting your face melted by guitars and the singer, the lead singer Anthony Green reels the crowd in close together as if he is making us recharge our energy together just to let us explode in yelling lyrics and dancing til your voice or legs give out! It really makes you feel apart of the show. Such an amazing feel good type of show they put on! Magical/Electric/Facemelting good! LSDUNES ROCKS! ✌️🧡🖤
Such an amazing band. Such a great show. These guys are a creative machine. And Katie’s voice is an amazing instrument, and she was super-cool to meet (very kind and friendly, and humble). I only wish we had had more time to talk about the creative process—songwriting, lyrical stories and imagery, and mixing. IMHO, Dizzy is the Canadian indie scene’s Beatles. Seriously, check out this band’s amazing music, and go see them!
HHHHOOOOOTTTTT!!!!!!
It was awesome! I say hot because it was packed and so hot with no air, but it was just so fantastic!!
Elliot Lee, opener, was so great!! Got to speak to them, too! Awesome human.
Joywave was so great! That concert was made for me. Played all my faves. I wish it was longer but it was so hot. All good things come to an end. So fun while it lasted.🙌🏾🤟🏾
First time of having the pleasure to FINALLY see Silverstein play live, I've only been listening to them since late middle school-early high school days. These guys did a killer performance! Definitely was a show to remember from being in the pit throwing down to crowd surfing to shaking Shane's hand at the end of the show🖤🎛🔊🤘🤙 Until next time👏🗣🎤
BEST SHOW OF MY LIFE! I love both the opening performers, they were so good! I was tired from singing along and cheering before Tessa even came out! But when she did come out, she did not disappoint! The energy of the whole show, all three acts was INCREDIBLE. So hype. +it was very intimate, I was able to meet all of the artists!
This was such a great time. I love this musician so much . This venue allows for a intimate experience between the musician/band and the fans. I loved this concert so much and being in front of her and singing the lyrics in front of Lindsey Jordan as she sang them back to me was an experience I’ll be talking about until I’m old and grey. Such a great musician and such a talented band. I’ll cross my fingers and hope she comes back sooner to Pittsburgh rather than later. Preferably at this same venue! Lindsey Jordan and Snail Mail rules!
If Nicole Atkins is in your town or even in a proximity you can get to GO! Don’t hesitate! You will be in awe and delighted. Her voice, stage presence, and music is like no other’s. She and her band deliver not just a performance, not just entertainment, they deliver an experience. The kind of experience you wish to see that you can only find with a few truly talented artists and bands out there. The ones that take your heart and mind away from the stage and to another place where the world just falls away. Like I said before if Nicole Atkins is in town GO. These are the kind of moments in life that can only be described as magical.
Brkn Love was a great opening act. Very good rock sound. Pop Evil was awesome. Sounded great and played with passion and intensity. Mr Smalls Theatre is a great little intimate venture where you can feel up close and personal with the bands. Will definitely go back to see more shows at this venue and definitely will go back to see Pop Evil anytime they come near me. Great show Pop Evil.
