About this concert
For more than six decades, Robin Trower’s career has known no bounds. At the age of 76, the British guitarist can reflect on a journey in which he has planted flags across the musical sphere and played every role imaginable. He’s been the driving force behind ’60s icons Procol Harum. The transatlantic solo star who filled US stadiums with 1974’s "Bridge of Sighs." The collaborator and occasional supergroup member. The elder-statesman songwriter whose late period still crackles with invention. Turning once again to his trusty toolkit of Fender Stratocaster and Marshall amp, Trower’s guitar work is ageless, whether that’s the tough chop of “Ball of Fire,” “Losing You" and "Cloud Across the Sun,” or the slower-burn wah squalls of the title track and “Deadly Kiss.”

This was a really cool show and very special to me. Robin Trower is one of my top favorite guitarists and we made the trek all the way from Los Angeles, CA, USA to see him rock! His mastery of the guitar is incredible and was really an experience to see live, he's just the best- did not disappoint!! The venue was really cool too, great place to see a show. Love that it's built in to an old church building, amazing old exterior. Plus the drinks were reasonably priced and good selection. Overall it was a fantastic night!!

Robin Trower Biography

Robin Trower (born Robin Leonard Trower, 9 March 1945, Catford, South East London, England) is an English rock guitarist who achieved success with Procol Harum during the 1960s, and then again as the bandleader of his own power trio.
Biography

Trower grew up in the seaside resort of Southend-on-Sea, Essex. In 1962, Trower formed a group that became The Paramounts, later including fellow Southend High School pupil Gary Brooker. The Paramounts disbanded in 1966 to pursue individual projects. During this time, Trower created a local three-piece band called 'The Jam' - not to be confused with the later group with Paul Weller. Trower then joined Brooker's new band Procol Harum in 1967, with whom he remained until 1972.

Before launching his own eponymous band, he joined singer Frankie Miller, bass player James Dewar, and former Jethro Tull drummer Clive Bunker to form the short-lived combo Jude. This outfit did not record and soon split up.

Trower retained as his bassist Dewar, who took on lead vocals as well, and recruited drummer Reg Isidore (later replaced by Bill Lordan) to form the Robin Trower Band in 1973.
