About this concert
The Wesley Bell Ringers will perform at St. David’s Episcopal Church in Lincoln on Sunday, June 8th at 7:30pm. This will be the third concert on the choir’s 59th annual Summer tour and will feature 19 teenage ringers playing more than 150 handbells and handchimes.
In 1963, The Wesley Bell Ringers, a music ministry of Christ United Methodist Church in Salt Lake City, UT, began with 9 youth ringers and 25 bells. From the very beginning membership in the choir has been open to any youth dedicated to learning the art of handbell ringing and caring for their fellow ringers.
Fast forward 60 years! The 19 current ringers are the most recent of more than 500 youth who have participated in the choir. The experience and dedication has never changed. The choir developed a reputation for musical excellence that continues to open doors to exciting opportunities. The previous 58 summer tours have taken the choir to all 50 states and all but one of the Canadian provinces. They have performed at the US Capitol, Cathedral of the Pines National Monument, Mt. Rushmore, George Washington Masonic Memorial, Disneyland and Disneyworld. The choir has participated as the featured choir at numerous handbell festivals around the United States, and performed for The National Music Educators convention. Performances with The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and The Utah Symphony Orchestra have been repeated honors over the choir’s history. In 2017, the choir was invited to record with The Piano Guys on their album Christmas Together. The Wesley Bell Ringers were also the featured youth choir at the Ringing Up! Festival last summer, hosted by Area 11 of the Handbell Musicians of America.
Highlights from the 2025 summer concert include: George Bizet’s Farandole, Alex Guebert’s Tongues of Flame, Chopin’s Nocturne in Eb Major, & Cathy Moklebust’s arrangement of Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence.
St. David’s Episcopal Church is located at 8800 Holdrege Street in Lincoln. Admission to the concert is free, and a free will offering will be collected.

The Wesley Bell Ringers Biography
The Wesley Bell Ringers formed in 1963 when nine enthusiastic teenagers sold sandwiches for six months and made enough money to buy twenty-five hand bells. The Wesley Bell Ringers became the first hand bell choir in Utah. Fast forward 60 years and more than 500 high school aged students have played in the choir which has expanded to 10 octaves of bells, and two octaves each of hand chimes, cup bells, silver melody bells, a carillon and a one-of-a-kind instrument called the boom-a-gong.
The choir performs throughout Northern Utah during the Christmas season, and each summer travels across a different part of North America sharing their music. They have performed at Mount Rushmore, Disney World, The Cathedral of the Pines National Memorial, the 2002 Winter Olympics and the United States Capitol. They have made joint appearances with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the Utah Symphony, and have been featured musicians in A Kurt Bestor Christmas 2011 and 2015 as well as collaborated with The Piano Guys.
