Delays Have Dangerous Ends
Ghosts Are Speaking - triple launch
PACT Centre for Emerging Artists
107 Railway Parade

About this concert
Have you thought of the ghosts you bring with you where ever you go - and that there are ghosts already there?
Celebrating the release of Genevieve Von Black's debut album, Ghosts Are Speaking, this is a special one night only performance exploring the concept of the DNA and the history we bring with us to places already laden with ghosts. Von Black (synth/electric piano) is combining with the improvisational talents of Joseph Cummins (Vic) on trumpet, and Natalie Ivin Poole (aka Twirling Wolf) (Vic) celebrated dancer, to projected digitally manipulated landscapes by artist Joanne Faulkner (Tas).
Part 2 of the event is Delays Have Dangerous Ends improvising an interpretation of the Ghosts Are Speaking theme and taking into dark celestial heavy ambient heights, to live projection art by screen artist Shahane Bekarian.
This is a Blunderbuss Record Co launch event.
Doors at 7:00pm. This is a small venue with limited seating, securing an early ticket is encouraged.

Delays Have Dangerous Ends Biography
Delays Have Dangerous Ends is the project of Matthew Syres and Genevieve Von Black, Australian improvisers driving music trains head first across multiple genres - bending guitar and keys into hypnotic and powerful mantras. Syres brings years of experimental and post rock to the fray. Von Black injects mashups of jazz, doom and influences from heavy rock and heavy classical music.
Delays Have Dangerous Ends bring their love of all the dark things together with instrumental narrative in a long-form improvisation format. Think Bohren and der Club of Gore, The Necks, Nick Cave, Alister Spence, Joseph Tawardros, Saint Vitus, Earth, Melvins, Oren Ambarchi, Alice Coltrane, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Cluster, Sunn O))), films and Nordic noir.
Delays Have Dangerous Ends formed in the bleak Sydney autumn of 2022. It started with an improvisation riffing from a doomjazz idea and responding to the ravens singing outside in the fading afternoon light. Delays Have Dangerous Ends listeners are immersed in landscapes like this, travelling from the sublimely beautiful to darkly epic. This is not music for every day - it is for every night.
“Imagine Vangelis and Alexander Hacke had unprotected sex and the spawn of their reptilian egg (which had two yolks) formed a sonic duo of soaring proportions who took you into the kind of sonic hell where Brian Eno will finally rest after the great Enocalypse of 2157. Ladies and mutants, this is Delays Have Dangerous Ends.”
