Fermented Beats Biography
Fermented Beats is a psychedelic prog trio that creates bass-driven instrumental music with engaging horns, unique effects, and driving drums. Embracing a diverse breadth of genres, from prog rock and jazz to experimental and neo-classical, the band utilizes the sounds of clarinet and effects to leave listeners scratching their head in awe and curiosity. Rooted in Pittsburgh, Fermented Beats also explore the abstract, gritty, and experimental nature of their personalities. They once overheard a fan saying, “Fermented Beats takes old broken blenders and purées worldly elements to create extraterrestrial melodies grounded in engaging tunes.” Inspired by nature, fermentation and the ever-evolving, spontaneous role of microbes in life, they strive to push themselves through odd time signatures and adventurous compositions. Glance around the stage and you might find a jar of fermented vegetables (likely beets) or other ferments floating about.
